I’m a professional travel copywriter with more than 18 years of experience. Although my specialty is travel and tourism, I am well versed in matters of faith, homeschooling, women’s interests, health, and parenting.
The marriage of journalist and insatiable traveler began in the late 90s, when I became Public Relations Manager for AAA Carolinas. I discovered my niche while writing and editing travel articles, and creating tourism-related press releases.
Thankfully, my family shares my love for adventure and travel. When we homeschooled, picking up and taking off was quite easy. Now, fitting family trips into a public school schedule is a bit more challenging. We make it work, though!
When I’m not working, I’m traveling or journaling – or journaling about traveling.
Some of my previous travel articles have appeared in Family Motor Coaching Magazine, AAA Carolinas’ GO Magazine, Proverbs 31, For the Bride and other publications. My work can also be found on websites like Belize Hub, A Luxury Travel Blog, The Local Palate, and Destinations Travel Magazine. Check out samples under the “Portfolio” tab, too.
I’ve also written a children’s book, “The Mommy Interviews“, which you can purchase here. I’d love to visit your local library, school, or homeschool group. Drop me a line for scheduling. I have a few other kids’ books in my head and on paper, too – just trying to figure the best way to go about publishing them. If you have some ideas, or would like to collaborate, let me know!
“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Kristy. From our very first project; she managed to deliver copy that expressed not only what wanted we to say, but how we wanted it said. Her writing style gives us exactly what we have been searching for in copywriting: an authentic voice and not overly pretentious as most marketing firms had given us in the past. She has been our go-to girl for copywriting ever since, and we couldn’t be happier to have found her!”
